The OR-Live video was a live Web cast filmed in the operating room of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Our Lady of the Lake is the largest private medical center in Louisiana, with 740 licensed beds and a 12-parish (county) service area. The video shows a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy performed by Dr. Mark Hausmann and Dr. Kenneth Kleinpeter. Dr. Karl LeBlanc and a local broadcaster served as moderators during the surgery and offer background into this and other surgical weight loss interventions. Dr. LeBlanc took viewers through the laparoscopic gastric sleeve by explaining the process and answering questions from the viewing audience.
